still feeling pretty crappy today.  but i didn't want to ruin aubrey's spring break so i took her and connor to Wheeler Farm this afternoon.  i had never been there, but have heard it's really neat.  

plus, i still can't tell if i have a cold or allergies.  so i thought, hey, why not go to a farm where there's lots of hay, animals, grass and trees!  

take that, could-be allergies.

 it's such a beautiful historic farm!

everything was so picturesque and perfect.

 it's a real working farm so they have all kinds of animals.

 we started with the geese.

aubrey loved the cows.  i wasn't too sad about not being able to breathe through my nose right about now......phew!

i think connor was feeling pretty much the same way as me....

safe to say she loves the sheep, too.

i think aubrey was secretly destined to be a farm girl.  she loves everything about it.

and then there were the horses...

 

aubrey loves horses.

 she spent the most time here, and would've stayed all day if i let her.

 she's so gentle with them and not afraid of them at all.

connor tried to see them, but the sun was pretty bright.

plus, he's still not feeling very well, just like mommy.

next, up------turkey lurkey!

he was a beast.  

chicken coop.

 duck pond.

aubrey found some bread to throw to the ducks.

this duck was deranged.  he was making the loudest, most annoying high-pitched 'honk' i've ever heard.

perhaps it's because of the large tumor on his face?  never seen anything like it.

pretty bridge.  the land goes on and on.  it's so pretty there!

 there's so many great places to take cute pictures.  i'm sure this place is a photographer's dream!

she sweeps!

she's my favorite girl in the whole wide world.

i packed a little picnic lunch for her and let her play on the playground for a while before we left.

 connor and i sat and admired the pretty blue skies....

one last visit to the sheep on the way out.  we had to say baa--baa (bye bye)

something about these trees i just loved.

so despite feeling not so great, all in all it was a gorgeous day.

2nd day of spring break.

 2nd day of colds for me and connor man.  or maybe it's allergies, although i haven't ever had them before. 

we might be allergic to Spring this year.

my sweet boy isn't feeling too great.  he rarely makes noises, and when he does they are little whining/whimper noises.  when he let out a little whimper last night it sounded hoarse, so i can tell he's got some type of sickness going on.  i guess i never think about listening for changes in voice as a symptom.

meanwhile.........

aubrey is feeling great and excited about being home from school! 

 she definitely does not have a lack of energy, that's for sure.

she was showing me how much taller she would be if only we could count her hair, too.

later, i taped together some pieces of scrap packing paper that comes with connor's medical supplies and had her lay down so i could trace her body.

 she cut it out and made her own paper doll-self.

she of course had to change clothes so she could match.

she loves herself.

connor, on the other hand, is not so sure of this new Sissy....

but it's alright, buddy.  mommy's here.

when i woke up this morning, i felt as if i had been hit by a bus.  one of those large double decker ones.  i'm not sure if it was because i was just exhausted or if i came down with a little something.  i think it might be a cold.  either way, it was unpleasant.  luckily, the kids are off school for spring break so i was able to just 'relax' with them.  this relaxing consisted of watching movies (aubrey's choice) and laying next to my sweet boy.  

i laid next to connor thinking a possible nap might happen, but.........connor doesn't really do naps.  instead i just cuddled up right next to him while he continuously whacked me in the face.  (because of his uncontrollable jerking movements, not because he was angry with me).

(i don't think)

luckily after a couple movies and some medicine i feel much better tonight.  

moms don't really have time to get sick.

not this mom anyway.

today i'm grateful for my sweet aubrey girl.  she made sure i was taken care of, getting out her big comforter and covering me up, making sure my toes were warm.

i'm thankful for my beautiful boy, and being able to 'snuggle' with him no matter how many bruises i end up with on my face:)

and the rain.  i'm thankful for the sweet smell of rain and the sound it makes out my window as i'm typing this.
