updates and whatnot.

so we went in to see the pulmonologist yesterday.  they were supposed to do a Pulmonary Function Test, to see if my sweet boy's lungs are working properly....but they couldn't do the test because it requires the patient to 'actively participate' by blowing into something for a length of time. 

and it would be a pre-Thanksgiving miracle if my beautiful boy did that!

so.

they just hooked him up to a pulse/oximeter and observed his oxygen levels while they examined him.

and his levels are the same as they always have been.  they fluctuate anywhere between the high 80's-mid 90's.  and it's been that way for a long time.  so it seems that his lungs are functioning as well as they always have been.

so we're going to go ahead with the tongue reduction surgery.

that's the plan.

i have to go in with him next week and stay overnight for an EEG.  that will test to see if he's having seizures, either awake or asleep. he's never had any signs of seizures before when tested, so i'm not sure what it will show this time.

i never know with my sweet boy, everything always comes back 'normal'........clearly, right?

except for his level of cuteness.

that always comes back abnormally high.
