i'm sitting here in Illinois at my house.
Connor is wide awake and it's past midnight.
same routine, different state.
:)
so i thought i'd post a few of the pictures i took on the first leg of our journey home.
my sweet babies are excellent travel companions....
aubrey did great, didn't complain hardly at all.
she got a little stir crazy for a little while somewhere in Nebraska, but was really a good little traveler.
my beautiful boy did as well as he could, but he was having a hard time.
grinding his teeth.
a lot.
:(
the pit stop at my brother's house in Colorado was perfect.
his little girls are so cute.
they loved playing with aubrey, and spent a lot of time including connor and talking to him and sitting next to him.
this melted my heart.
i love that they gave him so much attention.
<3
i think he loved it too.
the girls watched some cartoons to relax before bed.
they look pretty intrigued.
little Mika.
she's adorable.
time for Papa to tell some bedtime stories....
i think i remember this one involving a prince named Lucas the Mucus.
the girls wanted to be under the blanket tent for the story...
well, except for Mika.
she tends to get a little wound up at bedtime.
she is so cute.
story time was a success.
we woke up early the next morning to start the final leg of our long 16 hour road trip home...
aubrey still did great.
she agrees that Nebraska is the longest, most boring state ever.
(sorry if there's any Nebraskans reading this..)
connor really had a rough time.
but we made it.
and we're here.
i'm home.
it feels good.
i can see the fire flies right now as i look out the window.
it's nice.
