Hoppy Easter Sunday!

before i get to the 'Easter morning' pictures, i just want to say a few words.....this Easter i am so thankful to have been able to sit down and discuss with aubrey the real meaning for this holiday.  we've had several conversations this week about why we celebrate Easter and what it's all about.  she had an idea in the years before, but this year she understands more.

she gets it.

she knows it's not about a cute little bunny with an endless supply of eggs.

she knows it's not about baskets, or candy.

or candy filled baskets.

this year she knows the reason we honor this day.  

i asked her and this is what she said--

 "because Jesus died for me so i can live again someday with Him and Connie."

i am so grateful for my Savior.  i know that he died for me and that i too will be able to live with Him again someday, along with connor and aubrey and the rest of my family.  

and that brings me peace.

he was struggling a lot this morning.  but he did sleep through most of church so i'm hoping he feels a little better now.

aubrey got a new dress for today. 

we went shopping together and she got to try on all the ones she wanted before she picked.  (this was the first one she picked off the rack and she ended up still liking it best:)

today we went to my sister's for an egg dyeing eggs-stravagansa!

we got our creativity on.

aubrey was eager to help her little cousin caleb make the perfect egg.

connor was the egg dyeing supervisor.

 i think he approved.

   aubrey was really good about helping caleb and making sure he found the same amount of eggs as she did.  and my sister was in the background yelling out morale boosting cheers----"GET THE EGG!!!!  THE EGG!!!"  :)
